这两个词都可表示“一致”。compatible表示“协调的,合得来的,和睦相处的”,指两件事物不仅不相互排斥,而且可以并存,后面的介词用to或with; consistent表示“不自相矛盾的”,强调不相互排斥,但也不表示可以共存,后面接介词with。
